Jackets Tame Wildcats

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets faced off against the University of New Hampshire Wildcats on a cold, rainy Friday night. The game opened with sloppiness from both teams as they traded turnovers. The Jackets struck first on an extra-man opportunity when Pierce Quarles fed Joseph Rose on the crease for a goal. The duo connected again but switched roles at the end of the first quarter after breaking the Wildcat ten-man ride. The Jacket defense stood tall as the offense looked to find their footing. When the Wildcats managed to get good looks, Peter Zagrobelny turned them away.

The offense began to find their flow in the second quarter. Quarles and Rose connected again early in the quarter. The Jackets got two goals each from Brooks Baro and Asher Wagnon later in the second quarter. Ben Skopicki was dominant facing off and kept feeding the Tech offense. The Jackets led 7-0 at halftime. Hudson Higgins and George Corbin led a strong defensive effort. Peter Zagrobelny finished with 14 saves and one goal allowed. The Jackets were able to close out the game with a 12-3 win. The Jackets will face the Texas A&M Aggies on Sunday at home.
