Tech Outlasts Stubborn Tigers

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets opened the 2024 season with a road win against the Clemson Tigers.  Despite the warm weather, the Yellow Jackets started the game a little cold.  The first quarter was back and forth with Clemson scoring three times and the Jackets answering each time ending the quarter tied 3-3.  The Jackets began to take control in the second quarter outscoring the Tigers 4-1 to take a 7-4 lead into the half.  The defense lead by Hudson Higgins began to put the clamps on the Tigers.  The Jackets continued to find their footing as the game went on en route to a 15-11 win.  Offensively the Jackets were lead by their three attackmen, Brooks Baro, Joseph Rose, and Pierce Quarles who combined for 16 points on the day.  Nick Eliacin returning after missing the 2023 season due to injury scored three goals in the fourth quarter.  The Jackets will face the Auburn Tigers in their home opener on Friday February 9.
