Tech stumbles in SELC Final for First loss of the Season

In a match up of two top six teams Georgia Tech suffered their first loss of the season to South Carolina in the SELC championship game.  Tech got on the board first, but then South Carolina went on a five goal run.  Tech answered with a two goal run to get the score to 5-3 in the second quarter.  But South Carolina got another goal just before the end of the first half.  Tech came out in the second half with multiple good possessions, but couldn't break through and South Carolina managed to finish on the other end which extended their lead to 9-3.  Tech got two more goals, but allowed one to go into the fourth quarter down 10-5.  Tech got the score to 10-7 and had chances to cut the gap further, but the South Carolina goalie denied those opportunities,  The final score was 11-7.

Tech will next move on to the MCLA national tournament in Salt Lake City as the #4 seed and will play UConn on Monday, May 6.
