The Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Men's lacrosse team traveled to Gainesville, Florida for a top 10 matchup against the Florida Gators. The opening minutes of the game were back and forth. The Jackets created multiple great scoring chances but could not finish. The Gators took advantage and scored on their first possession. Pierce Quarles scored in early offense to tie the game. The Gators scored five more goals in the quarter including one as time expired while the Jackets had several high quality chances that they couldn't finish. At the end of the first quarter the Gators led 6-1. The remainder of the game saw the Jackets play better but not well enough as the Gators consistently kept them at arm's length.
The Gators were able to cruise to a 14-8 victory. The Jackets will next travel to the Georgia Bulldogs with the winner winning the SELC North division title.
