The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets took their first road trip of the season to play the Auburn Tigers. The two teams met twice in 2024 with the Jackets winning both games, so the Tigers came in with revenge on their mind.
The Jackets scored the first two goals of the game and it looked like they might be on their way to another controlling win. The Tigers fought back and tied the game before Tech scored the final tally of the first quarter to take a 3-2 lead.
Tech found their footing somewhat in the second quarter and built a 6–3 half time lead.
In the third quarter the Tigers played with a level of intensity that the Jackets struggled to match at times. Auburn closed the gap to 6-5 before Tech added a goal into the fourth quarter up 7-5.
The Jackets scored the first two goals of the fourth to get some breathing room but the Tigers would not go away. Auburn scored three straight goals to get within a single goal again at 9-8 thing advantage of some self inflicted issues for the Jackets. Tech steadied themselves and scored the next three goals to build a 12-8 lead. Auburn would try to storm back scoring two goals in the final 90 seconds but it was not enough as the Jackets held on to win 12-10.
The Jackets will host the N.C. State Wolfpack on Sunday.
