Jackets down Seminoles! Advance to SELC Semi-Finals

The Georgia Tech men's lacrosse team advanced to the semifinals of the SELC playoffs on Saturday after defeating the Florida State Seminoles 11-7 in a hard-fought game.

The Jackets got off to a strong start, but the Seminoles quickly answered back, making it a back-and-forth game in the first half. The Jackets held a slim 6-5 lead at halftime. However, in the second half, the pace of the game slowed down and the Jackets were able to lock in defensively, holding FSU to just one goal in the third quarter. This gave the Jackets a comfortable 9-6 lead going into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Jackets continued their strong play on both sides of the ball and were able to hold on to their lead to secure the victory. The Jackets' defense was particularly impressive, limiting FSU's scoring opportunities. Freshman goalie Peter Zagrobelny continued his impressive play, making 15 saves in the contest. The Jackets' offense was also well balanced, with multiple players contributing to the scoring, highlighted by a hat-trick from Sam Eck, and two goals from both Asher Wagnon and Matt Krecicki.

The victory  was a crucial one for the Jackets as they look to continue their playoff run. The team will now prepare for their upcoming semifinal matchup against #1 Florida. The Semi-Finals will be held at the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida next Saturday at 7pm. The Finals will be held Sunday at 2:30.
