Jackets Name Four Captains for 2023 Season

As the fall program for the Yellow Jackets came to its conclusion, the Georgia Tech Men's Lacrosse team named four seniors as captains for the upcoming season. The captains for 2023 will be attackman Devin Raun (Marlborough, MA), defenseman Kevin Lewis (Islip, NY), midfielder Sam Eck (Loganville, GA) and Will Cero (Seattle, WA).

Raun has been a starter for the Jackets ever since his arrival to Tech. Originally a midfielder, Raun has settled into his attack role nicely scoring over 150 points in his four years since arriving on campus including the shortened seasons of 2020 and 2021. His physical presence creates matchup problems for defenses.

Lewis is a vocal leader of the Jackets and has been a significant part of the team's success since he became a Jacket. The close defenseman has helped the Jackets lock down many opposing team's offenses with a regular season goal against averaging under 7.5 goals per game.

Eck is the energetic spark fire for the Jackets. The midfielder plays both ways on the field and is a force at each end. Strong, quick and precise Eck provides a nice punch from the midfield for the Jackets. His fiery play certainly fires up the Jackets each and every practice and game. Eck has amassed over 100 points as a Jacket and will be leaned on as a veteran to coordinate the younger Jackets joining him on offense this season.

Cero is a former faceoff specialist turned short stick defensive midfielder during his time at Tech. Cero has seen plenty of action as he enters his fourth season and will assist Lewis in developing the young talent on the defensive side of the ball. Like all SSMD Cero has a motor that is always running and his effort on the field is contagious.
