The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets faced off against Utah Valley University in the first round of the 2021 MCLA Invitational Tournament in Round Rock, Texas. The Jackets were looking to avenge a loss from the 2020 season. The early action in the game was back and forth with UVU taking a 3-2 lead early. The Jackets have they have done throughout this season steadied themselves and responded with a crushing 9-1 run to close the half with an 11-4 lead. The second half was a little sloppy with hard fought ground balls all over the field. The Jackets were able to continue their momentum and got the 17-6 win. Tech got balanced scoring from the midfield and attack and steady defensive efforts all over the field. The Jackets will face BYU on Thursday in the semi-finals.
