Georgia Tech Advances to 5-1

Georgia Tech hosted Utah Valley University and Boston College over the weekend.  Utah Valley came in hungry and was the aggressor all night.  The Jackets fought back, but were unable to shake off the sloppy play that plagued them.  Tech got standout efforts from Devin Raun and Mike Pullen, but it was not enough as Utah Valley took advantage of several second chance opportunities via ground balls on their offensive end and failed clears by Georgia Tech.  The Wolverines were able to take the win 9-8  in the end.

After a day to regroup on Saturday while Boston College and Utah Valley played the Jackets faced Boston College who defeated Utah Valley 16-8.  Tech came in hungry and looking for redemption.  The first quarter was a back and forth affair with the Jackets still looking to find their footing after suffering their first defeat on Friday.  The first quarter ended with the game  tied at 1.  The Jackets found themselves in the second quarter as they attacked in extra man, transition, and settled offense.  The Jackets lead 9-1 at halftime.  The Jackets were able to keep their distance from the Eagles the rest of the way to win 15-4.  Raun and Pullen once again turned in strong performances along with Conrad McEvoy.  The Tech defense was stingy all day and when the Eagles were able to create shots, Gino Pagliaro was there to turn them away as he finished with 17 saves on the day.
